About Me

My background and career

I was born and raised in the United States, primarily in the Virginia suburbs of Washington DC. I moved to New York City after university, where I spent four years working first at Price Waterhouse and then Morgan Stanley.

I relocated to London with Morgan Stanley in 1984, on a one-to-two-year assignment, and have remained here since.  I had a 20 year plus career as a senior executive within the financial services industry, holding roles in Finance, Corporate Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Technology, Risk and Compliance, as well as Chief Operating Officer roles in firms including Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan and Bank of America. This was followed by a 10 year consulting career, during which I advised clients on governance, risk and regulatory matters.  This included conducting board effectiveness reviews and coaching numerous senior executives and board members.

Throughout my career I have worked across the UK, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. I have also always been involved with many start-up companies

On a personal note, my husband of 30 plus years and I recently relocated from West Sussex to central London. I enjoy spending time with friends, going to the theatre, cooking, reading and exercise.  Our daughter and son live in the USA and we often travel there as a result.

I have always been passionate about people, leadership and business and have managed, mentored, influenced and coached thousands of people throughout my career. This led me to earn my Coaching Practitioner qualification from the Academy of Executive Coaching in 2009. I took the skills I learned into my corporate, consulting and non-executive roles, whilst simultaneously building my coaching practice. In 2024 I was accredited as a Senior Practitioner by the European Mentoring and Coaching Confederation.

In addition to my coaching work, I serve as a non-executive on several boards, and advise clients on leadership, corporate governance and ESG/Sustainability. Since 2018 I have been a Senior Associate at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership and lead the High Impact Leadership course.I am an active member of the UK Chartered Management Institute.

I believe that this mix of activities keeps me current on a wide range of topics as well as specifically people related issues which enhance what I bring to my coaching client relationships.I also work at continuously building my coaching capabilities through working with clients, from my coaching supervisor and from reading widely, attending conferences and podcasts about people, leadership and business. And, to be honest I am fundamentally a curious person so I enjoy learning about a broad range of topics.

When I work with clients my aim is to support them to experiment with new approaches to become the best they can be; giving them an opportunity to step back, reflect and move forward with greater awareness, clarity and impact. I appreciate the trust clients demonstrate through their candour and take great pleasure watching them grow and flourish.
